About CSI Institute of Legal Studies

       The object of legal education is to equip the law student with virtues and skill necessary for a good lawyer such as  Honesty, Courage, Industry, Wit, Eloquence, Judgement, and Fellowship. Thus the skills of Lawyers were used to help the poor and needy to pro9ve their lawful and truthful claims before courts of Law .Due globalization today the Scope of Legal Education became multi faceted one. Therefore, a lawyer today cannot stop his work within the Court Hall. He has to perform his role both in the municipal as well as international level. Growth of Science and technology widened the ambit of Legal education to new arenas such as Cyber Laws, Corporate Laws, Intellectual Property Rights etc.

           Conventional understanding of the society is that  the  National Law Schools  alone can cater the Knowledge in the above said areas. As an attempt to equip the rural students on par with the National Law School students the CSI South Kerala Diocese (CSI SKD)   has established CSI Institute of Legal Studies in 2013.CSI Institute of Legal Studies  is Affiliated to University of Kerala and Approved by Bar Council of India. The Primary object of the institution is to impart Quality research oriented legal education so as to enable the students to expand the horizon of their legal knowledge and disseminate the same effectively.

          The CSI Institute of Legal Studies is an Institute of South Kerala CSI Diocese having its Campus at Cheruvarakonam in Parassala situated 31 kilometer south of  Thiruvananthapuram the Capital of Kerala. College situated near the ABBS Memorial Church Cheruvarakonam. Cheruvarakonam is the resting place of  Missionaries who laid the foundation for South Kerala Diocese. The Institute at present is offering Two Year Post Graduate Course in Law (LL.M Constitutional Law) with an intake of 10 students  Three Year  Unitary LLB Degree Course with an intake of 60 students and two streams of Five Year LLB course as BA LLB,BCOM LLB and BBA LLB with intake of 60 students each.
