Saji Mathew has completed his MA (Economics) from University of Kerala, MBA (HRM) from Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi, MPhil in management from Karpagam University, Coimbatore, MA (Human Rights) from Annamalai University , Tamil Nadu, LLB from Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune, LLM (International Law) from University of Kerala and presently pursuing Ph.D in Law in IGNOU, New Delhi. He has cleared UGC-NET in Human Rights and Duties and Criminology.

He worked as a research Associate in V.V Giri National Labour Institute, Noida, U.P. Worked as an Assistant Professor in SGT University, Gurgaon, Haryana. He worked as a Legal Consultant in School of Law, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi from 2010 to 2012.During this period he has associated with the preparation of course materials of Law Programme.; conducted by the University.

He has attended Professional Development Programmes conducted by Bar Council of Kerala, Three Professional Development Training Programmes for Advocates and Legal teachers ranging from 4-5 days conducted by International Bar Association - Chair on continuing Legal education, National Law University and Menon Institute of Legal Advocacy and Training.

He has also attended 9 workshops/seminars on Research Methodology and Writing ranging from one week to 10 days Organized by Council for Social Development, Hyderabad, ICSSR and Tripura University, Bharathidasan University, CUSAT, Academic Staff Colleges of Kannur and Calicut. He has presented 12 research papers in various international and national Workshops / Seminars throughout India. He had participated in 13 International and National Workshops. Worked as a Rapporteur in International Conference on Global Environment jointly organized by Supreme Court of India, High Court of Delhi, Indian Law Institute, Ministry of Environment and Forest, and Ministry of Law and Justice. Participated in a 21 days International and Comparative Human Rights Law Practicum jointly organized by IGNOU, American Bar Association and University of Nevada, Las Vegas William .S. Boyd School of Law. This programme is approved by American Bar Association for 3 Academic Credits. He is also associated with NGO's dealing with Human Rights and Child Rights Issues.

He has published articles in accredited journals. His articles were published in national and regional news papers.
